Workers’ Day: Enugu CP Commends Workforce, Reaffirms Commitment to Security

The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has extended warm commendations to workers across the state and Nigeria at large on the occasion of the 2026 International Workers’ Day, applauding their resilience, discipline, and significant contributions to societal stability and economic advancement.

In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, the Commissioner acknowledged the critical role of workers in sustaining peace, fostering development, and maintaining social order, particularly amid prevailing security and socio-economic challenges. He noted that their dedication remains a cornerstone for national growth and progress.

CP Giwa emphasized that a safe and secure environment is indispensable for productivity, reiterating the Command’s unwavering commitment to proactive policing and the enhancement of public safety measures across the state.

He assured residents that the Police Command will continue to strengthen strategies aimed at safeguarding lives and property, thereby enabling citizens to carry out their lawful activities without fear or intimidation.

The Commissioner also called on workers and the general public to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and security-conscious. He urged them to cooperate with security agencies by promptly reporting any suspicious movements or activities through established communication channels.

CP Giwa concluded by wishing all workers a safe, peaceful, and fulfilling Workers’ Day celebration.
