The governor made the call on Friday during a Thanksgiving Mass held at the Government House Chapel, Enugu, to commemorate his third anniversary in office.

Addressing government officials, religious leaders, civil servants, and other stakeholders, Mbah expressed profound gratitude to Ndi Enugu for their support, prayers, and belief in his administration over the past three years.

He acknowledged the contributions of civil servants, members of his administration, and the Church, noting that their dedication and prayers had been instrumental to the successes recorded since he assumed office on May 29, 2023.

Reflecting on the signing of the Citizens’ Charter shortly after taking the oath of office, the governor said the document represented more than a policy statement; it was a commitment to rebuilding public trust and establishing a service-oriented government focused on the needs of the people.

According to him, the journey began with a bold vision at a time when many residents had become accustomed to disappointment and lowered expectations. He said the challenge was not only political but psychological, requiring citizens to believe once again in the possibilities of a better Enugu.

The governor highlighted key achievements of his administration across critical sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, transportation, technology, investment promotion, and aviation.

He painted a picture of a modern Enugu where students are equipped with digital skills such as robotics, artificial intelligence, coding, and science; where healthcare facilities are more accessible; and where improved road networks are connecting communities and boosting economic activities.

Mbah also pointed to the introduction of air-conditioned Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses with internet connectivity, the revitalisation of major state assets such as the International Conference Centre and Hotel Presidential, as well as the launch of Enugu Air, which he said is improving connectivity and positioning the state as a destination for investment and tourism.

The governor stressed that these visible achievements were the result of years of planning, strategic thinking, difficult decisions, and persistent execution.

“What people see today are outcomes. What they do not always see is the struggle, persistence, and invisible labour required to bring those outcomes into existence,” he said.

Speaking on the recovery and redevelopment of Hotel Presidential, Mbah revealed that the project had been entangled in prolonged legal disputes before his administration intervened decisively to secure a resolution, insisting that the iconic facility was too important to be left in perpetual decline.

He further noted that the transformation agenda extends beyond physical projects, describing it as a deliberate effort to rebuild the state’s economic, institutional, and cultural foundations.

“We are rebuilding the operating system of this state. A different future is being constructed layer by layer—economically, culturally, and institutionally,” the governor stated.

Mbah said there was growing confidence among young people, investors, and development partners in the future of Enugu State, adding that the administration’s focus remains on building systems capable of delivering long-term prosperity.

While celebrating the progress made so far, the governor cautioned against complacency, warning that the transformation process remains at a critical stage and requires continued commitment from citizens.

With another election season approaching, he urged residents to remain vigilant and committed to protecting the gains already achieved.

“Tomorrow Is Here can no longer remain government’s project alone. It belongs to Ndi Enugu,” he declared.

He emphasized that sustainable development can only endure when citizens take ownership of public assets, participate actively in governance, and hold leaders accountable for maintaining the momentum of progress.

Governor Mbah concluded by urging stakeholders across the state to unite in preserving and advancing the vision of a modern, prosperous, and globally competitive Enugu.

“Let us protect it. Let us strengthen it. Let us campaign for it. Let us bring more people into the fold and help them understand why this moment matters,” he said.

The thanksgiving service formed part of activities marking the third anniversary of the Mbah administration, which has been characterised by extensive investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, transportation, technology, and economic development across Enugu State.
