Uche Joseph Okolo, has called on residents of the council area to embrace the month of June with renewed hope, resilience, tolerance, and a collective commitment to advancing the development of their communities.
In a New Month message released on Monday, June 1, 2026, through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, the council chairman expressed gratitude to the people of Awgu for their continued support, cooperation, and solidarity, which he described as instrumental to the successes recorded by his administration.
Hon. Okolo noted that the spirit of unity and shared purpose among the people has remained a driving force behind the progress being witnessed across various communities in the local government area. He commended residents for their steadfastness and determination in the face of challenges, emphasizing that their resilience continues to inspire the administration’s commitment to service.
The chairman reiterated his resolve to sustain people-oriented governance and accelerate development initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of residents. According to him, the council will continue to prioritize critical sectors that promote infrastructure development, economic opportunities, social welfare, and sustainable growth.
While reflecting on the developmental strides being recorded in Enugu State, Hon. Okolo praised Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for what he described as visionary and purposeful leadership that has transformed the state’s development landscape.
He said the governor’s bold policies and extensive infrastructural projects have significantly repositioned Enugu as a leading destination for investment, economic expansion, and sustainable growth. The chairman highlighted achievements recorded under Governor Mbah’s administration in key sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, security, and economic development, describing the governor as “a God-sent leader to the people of Enugu State.”
Hon. Okolo further applauded the enabling environment created by the state government, noting that it has empowered local government administrations to effectively complement the governor’s developmental agenda at the grassroots level.
Reaffirming the support of the people of Awgu for the state government, the council boss assured that the local government would continue to align with Governor Mbah’s vision of building a prosperous and globally competitive Enugu State.
“As we enter the month of June, I urge all residents of Awgu to remain committed to the ideals of peace, unity, mutual respect, and community development. Together, we can continue to build stronger and more prosperous communities for the benefit of present and future generations,” he stated.
He wished the people of Awgu a productive and prosperous month, filled with blessings, success, and renewed opportunities, while expressing appreciation for their unwavering support for his administration.
