ECTDA Denies Involvement in Demolition of New Berries Park, Distances Self from Operation

The Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority (ECTDA) has firmly denied any involvement in the demolition carried out at New Berries Park, Enugu, stating that it neither authorized, directed, supervised, nor participated in the exercise.

In a disclaimer issued by the Authority, ECTDA clarified that it was neither informed nor consulted before the demolition was executed, stressing that it had no prior knowledge of the operation.

The Authority therefore dissociated itself from every aspect of the demolition, including the decisions leading to it, the execution of the exercise, and any consequences arising from the action.

ECTDA further urged members of the public, stakeholders, and the media to disregard any reports or claims suggesting that the Authority or the Enugu State Government approved, facilitated, or had prior knowledge of the demolition.

According to the statement, such claims are inaccurate and do not represent the official position of the Authority.

The disclaimer, signed by the Director of Administration, was issued to set the record straight and prevent misinformation or public misunderstanding regarding ECTDA’s role in the demolition of New Berries Park.
