…Intensifies Grassroots Mobilisation Ahead of 2027

Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made during the party’s July monthly meeting held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Awgu Local Government Council Hall, where party leaders, elected officials, stakeholders and supporters gathered to review the party’s progress, celebrate the achievements of the Governor Peter Mbah administration and strengthen strategies for the forthcoming local government and 2027 general elections.
Addressing the gathering, the Chairman of APC in Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Kenechukwu Okolo, welcomed members and appreciated them for their steadfast commitment and loyalty to the party. He also commended the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna (Uche) Joseph Okolo, for his unwavering support, leadership and contributions to the growth and unity of the APC in the council area.
Hon. Kenechukwu Okolo charged party faithful to return to their various wards and communities to intensify grassroots mobilisation, stressing that unity, discipline and sustained engagement with the electorate would be critical to the party’s success in the forthcoming elections.
In his address, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna (Uche) Joseph Okolo, lauded Governor Peter Mbah for what he described as visionary leadership and unprecedented infrastructural transformation across Enugu State.
He declared that Awgu APC remained united and fully committed to delivering overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Peter Mbah, Senator Osita Ngwu, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu and all other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Highlighting key development milestones in the local government, Hon. Okolo announced that the Smart Green Schools in Awgu had been completed and were fully prepared to commence academic activities in September. He attributed the milestone to Governor Mbah’s unwavering commitment to quality education, human capital development and the future of Enugu’s children.
The council chairman further disclosed that work was progressing steadily on the Awgu Water-for-All Initiative, assuring residents of the five remaining communities yet to benefit from the programme that their solar-powered boreholes would be completed on or before the forthcoming local government elections.
As part of efforts to consolidate the party’s growing support base, Hon. Okolo unveiled plans for extensive community engagements and grassroots mobilisation across all communities in Awgu. According to him, the initiative is aimed at deepening support for Governor Peter Mbah, the APC and its candidates, beginning with the local government elections and extending through the 2027 general elections.
He urged party members to remain united, committed and focused, noting that sustained grassroots mobilisation and collective effort would position the APC for resounding victories at all levels.
Among the dignitaries present at the meeting were the Deputy Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Dr. Stanley Ezediuto; the Member representing Awgu South Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Anthony Nwankwo; the APC Secretary-General in Awgu, Rt. Hon. Nelson Uduji; alongside other party leaders, stakeholders and supporters.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by the Awgu APC to strengthen party unity, expand its grassroots presence and work collectively towards delivering decisive victories for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Peter Mbah, Senator Osita Ngwu, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu and all other APC candidates in the forthcoming local government and 2027 general elections.
