Enugu CP Decorates Newly Promoted Senior Officers, Urges Integrity, Professionalism

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, mspsp, has decorated four newly promoted senior officers, urging them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, discipline, and professionalism as they assume greater responsibilities in the Nigeria Police Force.

The decorated officers are Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) Olubisi Oyedeji Oyedepo and Ukwa Bernard Amaga, who were promoted from the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), and Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) Afam Christopher Ofomata and Gladys Okafor, who were elevated from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).

Speaking during the decoration ceremony at the Enugu State Police Command Headquarters, CP Giwa congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotions, describing the elevation as a recognition of their dedication, competence, and years of meritorious service.

He noted that promotion in the Force is accompanied by increased responsibility and higher expectations, urging the officers to justify the confidence reposed in them through exemplary leadership, diligence, and unwavering commitment to ethical policing.

The Commissioner stressed that the officers would ultimately be assessed not by their new ranks but by their professionalism, operational competence, integrity, and commitment to delivering quality policing services to the public.

Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, DCP Olubisi Oyedeji Oyedepo expressed gratitude to the Police Service Commission (PSC) for approving their promotions and to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, for recommending them.

He also appreciated CP Giwa for his leadership, mentorship, and support, assuring that the promoted officers would continue to discharge their duties with renewed dedication, professionalism, and loyalty to the ideals of the Nigeria Police Force.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Enugu State Police Command Management Team, senior police officers, family members, friends, and other well-wishers, who gathered to celebrate the officers’ promotion.

The event underscored the Command’s commitment to rewarding excellence, motivating personnel, and strengthening effective policing through disciplined and responsible leadership.
