Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The bustling commercial streets of Coal Camp, Enugu, witnessed a vibrant political atmosphere on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, as the Enugu North Local Government Area chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) took its campaign train to Ogbete East Ward 5 and Ogbete West Ward 6, intensifying its grassroots engagement ahead of the forthcoming local government elections in Enugu State.

The campaign, led by the APC Chairman in Enugu North LGA, Hon. Ernest Onuoha, brought together the party’s chairmanship candidate, Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh; the member representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chimaobi Atu; and the member representing Enugu North Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly and Leader of the House, Hon. Johnson Ani.

Also on the campaign train were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Donor Relations, Hon. Dubem Onyia Jnr.; the Deputy Chairman of Enugu North LGA, Hon. Echezona Ugwu; the Secretary of the Local Government, Dr. Emeka Aroh; and other party stakeholders, members and supporters.

The team received a warm welcome from party faithful, traders and residents, who turned out in large numbers to identify with the campaign and express their support for the APC candidates.
The streets came alive with campaign songs, dancing and enthusiastic participation as the procession moved through the commercial hub, with the team engaging residents and traders in an atmosphere of political excitement and community interaction.

The Coal Camp visit marked the third day of the campaign, following its official flag-off on Monday, September 14, 2026, as the party continues its outreach across Enugu North ahead of the polls.

At the various stops, speakers highlighted what they described as developmental achievements recorded under the administration of Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh over the past two years. They urged residents to sustain their support by voting for Onoh and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

In his remarks, Onoh expressed appreciation to the people of Enugu North for their continued support for his administration and the government of Enugu State, led by Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.


He called on residents to maintain their confidence in the APC, while reaffirming his commitment to sustained development, effective service delivery and good governance in Enugu North Local Government Area.


The campaign visit to Coal Camp forms part of the APC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its grassroots engagement, connect with residents across the local government area and present its candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections.
