Michael Ogbuekwe, has congratulated the newly appointed members of the various Development Centres across the council, urging them to use their new positions to advance grassroots development and improve the lives of the people.
Ogbuekwe, in a congratulatory message, described the appointments as an opportunity for the appointees to make meaningful contributions to the development of their respective communities.
He urged them to regard their new responsibilities not merely as positions, but as a call to service, dedication and accountability, stressing that the confidence reposed in them comes with a duty to serve the people diligently.
According to the chairman, the Development Centres have an important role to play in bringing government closer to the grassroots by identifying the genuine needs of communities and ensuring that the interests of residents remain central to development efforts.
He charged the newly appointed members to maintain close contact with their communities, listen to the concerns of residents and support initiatives that will promote sustainable development and improve the welfare of the people.
Ogbuekwe also urged the appointees to promote peace, unity and cooperation across their respective communities, noting that the collective progress of Nkanu East depends on responsible leadership and active participation at the grassroots.

The council chairman expressed confidence that the new appointees would justify the confidence placed in them by discharging their responsibilities with integrity, commitment and a strong sense of duty.
He further prayed for God to grant them the wisdom, strength and courage required to successfully carry out their assignments.
Ogbuekwe reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening grassroots governance and fostering development across Nkanu East, emphasizing that the advancement of the local government remains a collective responsibility.
“Nkanu East is our home. Nkanu East is our collective responsibility. Together, we can build a stronger and more prosperous Nkanu East,” he said.
He once again congratulated the newly appointed Development Centre members and wished them a successful, impactful and rewarding tenure in office.
