
A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday, October 30, at approximately 10 PM, in the Adegbayi area of Ibadan, Oyo State. Comfort Olalere Tinubu, a 33-year-old nursing mother, has been arrested in connection with the death of her husband, Olusegun Tinubu, 39.

A source, who pleaded anonymity, revealed that the couple had a disagreement over a locked bedroom door. Olusegun allegedly accused Comfort of locking the door since 7 AM and returning around 7 PM. The argument escalated into a physical fight, during which Olusegun attempted to slap Comfort while she was breastfeeding their baby.
A relative living with the couple intervened and separated them, asking Olusegun to sleep in the living room. However, Comfort allegedly attacked Olusegun while he lay down, stabbing him in the back. Olusegun screamed for help, slumped, and was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
The matter was initially reported at the Gbagi Police Station but was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, Ibadan. Comfort is currently in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
The anonymous source provided additional context: “I got the call around 10:03 PM and learned that they fought, and she stabbed him, but that he was rushed to the hospital. About 30 minutes later, I was called again that my younger brother is dead.”
