
Honourable Uche Okolo, Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Council, has officially sworn in the 11 ward councilors elected during the September 21 council elections in the state.

Honourable Okolo expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the electorate for their active participation in the democratic process. He emphasized the significance of effective governance at the grassroots level, stressing its impact on community development.

The newly elected council leadership team includes Honourable Mrs. Roseline Udeh from Obeagu Ward as Leader of the Council. Other key officials are:

- Deputy Leader: Honourable Brown Moses Okolie (Owelli/Ugbo/Amoli/Ogugu Ward)
- Majority Leader: Honourable Nwigwe Miracle Somto (Agbogugu Ward)
- Chief Whip: Honourable Chjiolu Maduabuchi (Anikenano/Ugwueme Ward)
- Deputy Majority Leader: Honourable K.C. Nwankwo (Awgu Ward 2)
- Deputy Chief Whip: Honourable Nosike Kennedy Okonkwo (Isu Awaa/Ituku/Agbudu Ward)

Honourable Okolo urged the councilors to prioritize their constituents’ welfare and uphold integrity and service values. He expressed confidence that the new leadership team would effectively champion the interests of Awgu’s people.
