The Executive Chairman of Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB) Assoc. Prof Hyginus Banko Okibe has charged the State champion and contestants representing the State at the Grand finale of the JET Quiz competition scheduled to be held at Abuja to clinch the cup and emerge as National Champions. They were encouraged to go with high hopes and determination to excel as the National Champion.

Assoc. Prof. Okibe gave the charge when he received the two candidates from Igbariam Primary School II Enugu, Master Prosper Ugwu and Okey Ede Esther, with their teachers in his office before departure to Abuja for the contest.
He urged them to go to Abuja and reproduce excellence and show themselves as champion from the coal city where Smart School is the order of the day.
The Executive Chairman reminded them that they would meet other state champions in the competition and advised them to be bold, focused, and courageous to ensure that they answer correctly all the questions put across to them and make the state proud.
“We expect nothing but first position from you”
According to Assoc Prof. Okibe, as worthy ambassadors of Enugu State, we are confident that you will give a very good account of yourselves, go the extra mile at the competition, and come back to Enugu with trophies.
He, therefore, assured them that the State government and the Board would continue to give them all the needed assistance, support, and encouragement that would help them become national champions at the end of the contest.
Assoc. Prof. Okibe noted that our education-friendly Governor, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has invested so much into the education sector more than ever before, adding that the state government and the Board will give them executive handshakes and reward them beyond their expectation if they emerge as national champions.
The Chairman used the occasion to appreciate the Quiz facilitator in the school, Mrs. Edeh Edith, and Mrs. Okafor Rita, the Head Teacher, for their marvelous job in preparing the pupils for the competition.
The ENSUBEB Boss also appealed to teachers in public schools in the state to see the children under their care as our future leaders, therefore they owe it as a duty to support, encourage, guide and motivate them to develop their potentials and become somebody tomorrow.
Assoc Prof. Okibe also commended the Education Secretary for Enugu South L.G.A Mrs. Okolie Constance for her commitment and passion about the competition and wellbeing of pupils in public schools in the council area and appealed to her not to relent in this regard.
In his vote of thanks, one of the pupils and the state champion, Master Prosper Ugw, thanked the state Governor Dr. Peter Mbah for his special interest in promoting basic education in the state.
Master Ugwu also expressed gratitude to ENSUBEB Boss Assoc Prof. Okibe for the opportunity and support given to his school and other schools throughout the quiz competition and promised that they will do their best to emerge national champion at Abuja.
