
Hon. Professor Paul Sunday Nnamchi, the Federal lawmaker representing Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency, has been honored with two prestigious awards. The Enugu State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) conferred upon him the ICON OF DEMOCRACY award, while the Enugu State Indigenes General Assembly, Abuja Branch (ESIGA) awarded him the EXCELLENT REPRESENTATION AWARD for his outstanding performance in the National Assembly.

The awards were presented during the NUJ’s annual week celebration and ESIGA’s annual day celebrations in Abuja.

Hon. Nnamchi’s achievements in the National Assembly have earned him recognition from his constituents and fellow Enugu State indigenes. In less than two years, he has sponsored 29 amendments and establishment Bills, demonstrating his commitment to serving his people.

According to Chief Marcel Ezeagu, President-General of ESIGA, the assembly comprises over 40 community associations in Abuja, each nominating individuals who have positively impacted their communities. Nnamchi’s name was prominent among these nominations, reflecting his significant contributions to the Isi Uzo Local Government Area within his constituency.
Comrade Sam Udekwe, Chairman of Enugu State Council of NUJ, emphasized that the awardees were selected based on objective judgment, prioritizing value over sentiment. He congratulated the recipients on navigating the challenges of public opinion to achieve their awards.
