AWGU LGA PARTNERS WITH ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT TO LAUNCH “TOMORROW IS HERE” INITIATIVE, PROVIDING VOCATIONAL AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING TO YOUTHS

In a bid to empower the youth and promote sustainable development, the Awgu Local Government Area (LGA), in partnership with the Enugu State Government, has launched the “Tomorrow is Here” initiative. This innovative program provides short-term vocational and entrepreneurship training to youths in the area.

The initiative, which commenced on December 4th, 2024, is the brainchild of the Executive Chairman of Awgu LGA, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, popularly known as the “People’s Mayor.” The program is designed to equip youths with the necessary skills and knowledge to become self-sufficient and contribute positively to the development of their communities.

The “Tomorrow is Here” initiative offers well-structured training programs in various areas, including food production, cosmetics and household products, natural beverages, digital skills training, and entrepreneurship development. The program is aimed at providing youths with the opportunity to acquire skills that will enable them to become entrepreneurs and job creators, rather than job seekers.

Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, the Executive Chairman of Awgu LGA, expressed his commitment to empowering the youth and promoting sustainable development in the area. He emphasized that the “Tomorrow is Here” initiative is a testament to the Awgu LGA’s dedication to providing opportunities for youths to develop their skills and become self-sufficient.

The “Tomorrow is Here” initiative has been hailed as a laudable effort by the Enugu State Government to promote youth empowerment and sustainable development. The program aligns with the state’s vision of accelerating sustainable economic transformation, with a focus on industrialization, agriculture, energy, and mineral resources development.

As the “Tomorrow is Here” initiative continues to gain momentum, it is clear that the Awgu LGA, in partnership with the Enugu State Government, is committed to providing youths with the necessary tools and resources to succeed in life. The program is a shining example of what can be achieved when government and stakeholders work together to promote youth empowerment and sustainable development.
