In a bid to boost agricultural development in the region, the Mayor of Enugu East Local Government Area (LGA), Engr. Pst. Beloved-Dan Obi Anike (Odibochukwu), yesterday embarked on an inspection tour of potential locations for farm estates within the council area.

The inspection tour, which took place on January 29, 2025, was conducted in collaboration with the Enugu State Government, as part of its efforts to promote agriculture and empower farmers in the region. Hon. Mike Ogbuekwe, Special Adviser to the Governor of Enugu State on Agriculture, and Managing Director of Enugu Marketing Company Ltd, accompanied the Mayor on the tour.

Despite being an urban area, Enugu East LGA has identified suitable locations for agricultural farm estates, a development that impressed Hon. Mike Ogbuekwe. The collaboration between Enugu East LGA and the state government aims to support farmers and make the agricultural initiative a success, aligning with the state’s efforts to foster economic growth and development.

Engr. Pst. Beloved-Dan Obi Anike’s administration has demonstrated its commitment to developing the agricultural sector in Enugu East LGA. As the smallest LGA in Enugu State by land area, Enugu East is poised to make a significant impact on the state’s economy through agriculture.

The inspection tour marks a significant step towards achieving the state government’s objectives in promoting agriculture and empowering farmers in Enugu East LGA. With this development, the people of Enugu East LGA and the state at large can expect a boost in agricultural production and economic growth.
