Led by the Ezeagu Local Government Council, the initiative aims to transform the agricultural landscape in the community. During the visit, the GRAP Team, accompanied by community leaders, inspected the designated land area for the project.

The site’s strategic location, with the Agbokwe Stream running through it, is expected to support farming activities. The project has the potential to drive economic growth, create jobs, and enhance food security in the region.

Chief Ikomi Ohagwu, a community leader, expressed gratitude to the GRAP Team and the Chairman of Ezeagu Local Government, Dr. Vita Ndu, for the initiative. He also acknowledged the intervention on the Awha Imezi – Awha Ndiagu Road, which will enhance accessibility to the farm location for local farmers.

Prince Godspower Chimereze, the Special Assistant to the Chairman on Agriculture and GRAP Team Leader, commended the community’s leadership for their cooperation and understanding of the Council’s projects. He assured the community stakeholders that the GRAP Programme would be implemented to maximize benefits for the people of Awha Ndiagu.

This initiative is aligned with the larger movement to promote green initiatives and sustainable development across Africa. Similar efforts, such as the African Union’s Green Recovery Action Plan, are also underway to foster climate resilience and drive eco-friendly growth across the continent.

The GRAP Team’s engagement with the Awha Ndiagu Community marks a significant step towards achieving the project’s objectives. As the project progresses, it is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of community members and contribute to the overall development of the region.
