Since assuming office on May 29, 2023, Governor Mbah has implemented various developmental projects, including the construction of 141 roads, 260 Smart Green Schools, and 260 Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centers. The governor’s commitment to transformative leadership has been praised by stakeholders, including Ogalla.
“Governor Mbah’s vision for Enugu State is remarkable in both principle and practice,” Ogalla said. “We are committed to replicating his achievements in Igbo-Eze North, bringing a fresh perspective to governance.”
Ogalla’s administration has prioritized infrastructure development, with a focus on roads, healthcare, and education. The council chairman emphasized the importance of investing in social infrastructure, citing the example of the 13km Ogrute-Okpo road, which was graded by his administration.
Users of the road reported significant reductions in travel time and fares, resulting in savings of N50,000 per month by one road user, which translates to N600,000 per year. Ogalla estimated that the annual impact of good roads on each citizen is approximately N600,000. This assertion underscores the importance of infrastructure development in enhancing the quality of life for residents.
Ogalla advised residents to reject “stomach infrastructure” and instead support initiatives that promote sustainable development. “Our people in Ette must recognize the value of investing in social infrastructure over mere handouts,” he said. “It is clear that the government cannot directly provide for every individual’s needs. Instead, we will continue to execute projects that empower each citizen to thrive in their respective pursuits.”
