POLICE ARREST SUSPECT LINKED TO ATTACK ON AMEGU NKALaha COMMUNITY IN EBONYI STATE

The Ebonyi State Police Command has announced the arrest of a suspect linked to the recent attack on Amegu Nkalaha Community in Ishielu Local Government Area of the state.

According to a press statement released by the police command’s spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, the suspect was apprehended while fleeing the community with the assistance of local residents.

The arrest was made possible by the swift response of the Commissioner of Police, CP Anthonia Uche-Anya, who deployed a tactical team to the community to apprehend the perpetrators.

Upon interrogation, the suspect provided valuable information that led the police to raid the hideout of the hoodlums responsible for the attack. The police recovered several items from the hideout, including three locally made single-barreled guns, one police uniform, a pair of jungle boots, a pair of army camouflage shorts, and a pair of combat trousers.

The police are still pursuing other suspects and have urged anyone with information to come forward. The command has reassured residents of Ebonyi State that they are committed to protecting lives and property, and that the situation is under control.

“The command is actively pursuing other fleeing suspects, and investigation is ongoing,” Ukandu said in the statement. “We urge anyone with useful information that might lead to the arrest of other suspects to come forward.”

The attack on Amegu Nkalaha Community has raised concerns about the security situation in Ebonyi State. However, the police command has assured residents that they are working tirelessly to ensure that those responsible for the attack are brought to justice.
