In a bid to strengthen ties with the Enugu State Government, the traditional rulers of the four autonomous communities in Amuri Ancient Kingdom, Enugu East Senatorial District, paid a courtesy visit to the Enugu State Ministry of Housing on [date]. The visit aimed to explore areas of collaboration, particularly in the state’s housing sector.

Led by HRH Igwe Fidelis Nsiegbu of Umuigbo, the royal delegation expressed their commitment to partnering with the state government in line with Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah’s housing policy. The monarchs revealed that all communities in Amuri had resolved to provide land for a mass housing scheme to benefit the people of Enugu.

As part of their collaborative efforts, the traditional rulers assured the government that once the state initiates the survey of the designated land, they would mobilize local representatives, including all Presidents-General of the four autonomous communities and their neighborhood watch groups, to support and accompany the surveyors.

Responding to the delegation, the State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Martin Chukwuweike, expressed gratitude for their visit. He reaffirmed Governor Mbah’s vision of transforming all parts of Enugu into urban areas through strategic housing initiatives. Dr. Chukwuweike further assured the royal fathers that he would facilitate and expedite the collaboration to ensure the mass housing project becomes a reality.

The courtesy visit was attended by notable dignitaries, including HRH Igwe Fidelis Nsiegbu of Umuigbo, HRH Igwe Eddy Ogbonna of Eziokwe, HRH Igwe Charles Nwoye of Enuagu, and HRH Igwe Linus Nwodo, who was represented by Barr. Lucky Chukwu JP.
