
In a bid to empower residents of Awgu Local Government Area through education and technology, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has launched a free online training programme for 1,000 residents.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The programme, which is expected to commence on March 3, 2025, will offer globally accredited diplomas in high-demand fields such as Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Mixed Reality, CGI Animation, 3D Animation & 2D Animation, Business Intelligence Analysis, Agile Scrum Product Management, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Product Design for Agile and Kanban Environments.
According to the council, the Chairman will sponsor the ₦6,000 registration fee for all 1,000 participants, while WiFi clusters will be provided at strategic locations across the local government to ensure residents can attend the online classes free of charge.
The programme, which is designed to last for 26 weeks (6 months), will feature flexible virtual learning sessions, with 1.5 hours of online classes twice a week. Participants will also have access to recorded classes and weekly hands-on tasks to build practical skills.
Speaking on the programme, the council said it is open to students (JSS 3 and above), undergraduates, graduates, teachers, professionals, youths, and anyone eager to upskill. Interested persons are advised to connect with the committee to secure their slots.
The committee, which is chaired by Mrs. Adinde Veronica (HOD Education), with Anikwe Chiagozie (PS to Council Chairman) as Secretary, will oversee the registration process and ensure the smooth implementation of the programme.
