
A former Military Governor of the South-Eastern State has passed away at the age of 84. The deceased, a native of Delta State, died on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

During his tenure as Military Governor from July 1975 to July 1978, he implemented key infrastructure projects and policy reforms that shaped the region’s growth.
The statement highlighted his notable appointments, including Commander of the Command and Staff College and member of the Armed Forces Ruling Council. He also played a crucial role in Nigeria’s transition to democracy as Chairman of the Constitutional Conference Commission in 1994.
The deceased is survived by his wife, children, siblings, and numerous grandchildren and relatives.
