ENUGU INTERNATIONAL MARATHON: ROAD CLOSURES AND TRAFFIC ADJUSTMENTS

The Enugu State Ministry of Transport has issued a public announcement regarding the upcoming Enugu International Marathon, scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025. As part of the event’s safety and traffic control measures, several key roads in the metropolis will be completely closed to vehicular movement from 6:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.

Affected Roads:

The following roads will be fully locked to ensure a safe and successful event:

  1. Ogui Junction to Shoprite to Subway (Okpara Avenue)
  2. Subway Junction to Radio Nigeria Junction to Kingsway Road to Prisons Junction to Akwata Junction to Mgbemene Junction
  3. Coal Camp to Detective College Junction
  4. Mgbemene to Ziks Avenue Junction
  5. Detective College Junction to Edozie to Keyeta Road to UNEC
  6. UNEC to Spar Junction
  7. Spar Junction to Monkey Roundabout (EFCC Road) and NTA Road
  8. Ike Ekweremadu Road to Okpara Square
  9. Bisala Road to Government House Road
  10. Chime Avenue, Ogui Road to Old Artisan Junction
  11. Tunnel to All Saints Junction
  12. All Saints Road to Ekulu Primary School Junction to Bridge Waters Corporation
  13. Okpara Square to Toscana Hotel to Nza Street to New Haven

Alternate Routes:

To minimize disruptions and ensure smooth traffic flow, commuters are advised to use the following alternate routes:

  1. Detective College Junction to Gariki
  2. Uwani Area
  3. Achara Layout
  4. Maryland
  5. Trans Ekulu
  6. Abakpa
  7. Emene
  8. New Artisan to Mega Fueling Station (Naira Triangle)
  9. New Market to Golf Estate
  10. Toscana Road to Artisan to Goshen Estate to Mega to Emene

Important Notice:

It is essential to note that there will be no vehicle movement in the affected areas during the closure period. Motorists, commuters, and residents are kindly advised to plan their routes ahead of time and cooperate with traffic management personnel to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
