
The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has issued a public notice announcing its monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise, scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. Notably, the Authority has relaxed movement restrictions on people and vehicles during the sanitation period, in consideration of the National Gifted Entrance Examination being conducted by the National Examinations Council (NECO) on the same day.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!In a statement signed by Andreas Gebauer, Special Assistant to the Governor on Water and Waste Management, ESWAMA urged the residents of Enugu State, fondly referred to as “Ndi Enugu,” to continue to keep their environment clean and to bag their waste properly before disposal, to ease evacuation efforts by waste collectors. This, the Authority noted, is crucial in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
The Authority emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining environmental cleanliness, stating that every resident has a role to play in keeping Enugu State clean. “We urge all residents to take ownership of their environment and work together with us to maintain a clean and healthy environment,” the statement read.
Furthermore, residents are reminded to pay their ESWAMA Sanitation Rates to authorized e-ticketing agents assigned to their respective areas to avoid penalties. The Authority emphasized the importance of compliance with sanitation regulations to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for all.
