In a heartwarming ceremony, the Awgu Local Government Council, led by Chairman Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, extended a warm welcome to the 2025 Batch A Stream II members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Awgu.

Prof. Onyia, in his address, highlighted the significance of the NYSC scheme in fostering national unity, community development, and sustainable progress. He urged the corps members to wholeheartedly embrace their assignments and make meaningful contributions to their host communities. “The NYSC scheme serves as a platform for our youth to engage in the development of our nation,” Prof. Onyia emphasized.

Chairman Okolo reassured the corps members of the local government’s unwavering commitment to their welfare, security, and integration into the community. “We are delighted to welcome you to Awgu LGA, and we are dedicated to making your time with us both memorable and impactful,” Hon. Okolo said. “We invite you to discover our rich cultural heritage, interact with our residents, and play a vital role in the advancement of our community.”

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, representing the Governor, and Hon. Barr. Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports.
