In her goodwill message, Dr. Ngene expressed immense pride in the achievements of APWEN Enugu and optimism for the future of women engineers in Nigeria. She described the occasion as timely and deeply aligned with the aspirations of both the state and the nation, stressing that in a world driven by technology, innovation, and sustainable development, women engineers are “not just participants in progress, but pioneers of transformation.”
“As Chairman of the Science, Technical, and Vocational Schools Management Board, I see firsthand the power of technical education to unlock potential and shape futures,” she said. “Your commitment to excellence, mentorship, and advocacy is lighting the path for young girls across Enugu State who dare to dream of building bridges, designing solutions, and engineering a better tomorrow.”
Dr. Ngene called on the engineering community to deepen collaboration, amplify innovation, and reaffirm their shared mission of empowering women in STEM. Quoting engineer and astronaut Mae Jemison, she reminded participants: “Never limit yourself because of others’ limited imagination; never limit others because of your own.”
She congratulated APWEN Enugu on achieving this milestone and wished them fruitful deliberations, lasting impact, and an inspiring legacy.
