
The Member representing Aninri, Awgu, and Oji-River Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Lake Chad, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, FNSE, has commiserated with the family of the late Ogbuefi Alphonsus Okeke Chime (Egbe-Eje-Ogu), who was laid to rest on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Obuo Village, Obeagu, in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, at the age of 82.

Hon. Onwuegbu, who was ably represented by his aides, joined relatives, friends, and sympathizers to honor the life and legacy of the late patriarch.


While addressing guests at the funeral, the illustrious daughter of the deceased, Hon. Onyinye Paschaline Okeke, expressed gratitude to the federal lawmaker for identifying with their family during the period of grief. She further prayed that God would continue to bless and guide him as he strives to improve the lives of his constituents in particular and Nigerians in general through people-oriented legislation.

Among Hon. Onwuegbu’s delegation present at the event were the Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilization, Hon. Michael Okaibe, alongside Hon. Onyekachi Nwafor, Hon. Rosemary Chukwu, Hon. Obinna A. Okpara (Media Aide), and Hon. Chimaroke.


The funeral was marked by solemn reflection as friends and well-wishers joined the bereaved family to bid farewell to a man fondly remembered for his amiable nature and community spirit.


As the final prayers were said, many echoed heartfelt wishes:
May the soul of Ogbuefi Alphonsus Okeke Chime rest in perfect peace, and may God console the bereaved family. Amen.
