The Enugu State Ministry of Transport (MOT) has reiterated its commitment to the safety of residents and commuters across the state by reminding the public of essential traffic rules and penalties for violations.

According to the statement, motorists and road users are expected to comply with key traffic rules, including the compulsory use of seatbelts, driving only with a valid driver’s license or permit, and clearing properly within designated bus shelters. The advisory further stressed the need to obey all traffic signs and markings, avoid parking or loading outside approved terminals, and desist from vandalizing government property such as bus shelters and terminals.
The Ministry warned that vandalism of public transportation assets would attract severe penalties, urging residents to collaborate with the government in maintaining a safe and efficient transportation system.
“By following these simple rules, we can ensure a safer and more enjoyable travel experience for everyone,” the statement noted, while also thanking the public for their cooperation.
The advisory concluded with a renewed call for collective responsibility, highlighting that road safety is a shared duty between the government and the people of Enugu State.
