The event, marking the 3rd edition of the annual programme, was a colourful showcase of cultural dances, masquerades, and moving citations. Beneficiaries—drawn from young students, school leavers, and even market women—received certificates, notebooks, and in a heartwarming gesture, cash prizes and additional educational support were awarded to the best-performing participants.

One recipient, 18-year-old Chiamaka Ugwu from Mbu, expressed her joy: “I’ve never touched a laptop before this programme. Now I can type, create PowerPoint slides, and use email. I feel unstoppable.”

Highlights of the programme included live presentations of computer knowledge and Microsoft Excel applications by participants. The coordinator, Engr. Daniel Igwe, disclosed that the training has so far empowered 1,000 students with vital digital skills.

Traditional rulers, led by HRH Igwe Nwabueze Ugwuanyi, commended Prof. Nnamchi for his developmental initiatives, ranging from scholarships and solar-powered streetlights to the attraction of a federal university to the constituency.

In his address, Prof. Nnamchi thanked his constituents for their unwavering support, described his recent move to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a strategic step for greater development, and announced plans to establish an ICT centre in Mbu to consolidate the digital empowerment drive.
