Enugu State is strengthening its drive towards a digital economy with the training of young talents under the pioneer cohort of the Enugu Turing Tech Training Programme (ETTP), a 12-month initiative focused on Full-Stack Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence fundamentals.

The programme is equipping participants with practical, industry-relevant skills in software development, problem-solving, artificial intelligence and collaborative technology development, with a strong emphasis on preparing beneficiaries for employment opportunities in the global digital economy.
The initiative is designed to bridge the gap between digital skills acquisition and sustainable employment by creating a pipeline of highly skilled professionals capable of competing for opportunities beyond Nigeria while remaining based in Enugu.
Upon successful completion of the programme and attainment of the required professional standards, participants are expected to be positioned for global Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) and technology-related opportunities, with projected entry-level earnings of about US$18,000 annually — approximately ₦27 million per year, or ₦2.25 million monthly, based on an exchange rate of ₦1,500 to the dollar.
The programme forms part of the broader Enugu Talent City Initiative, being championed under the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, which seeks to develop a globally competitive workforce capable of attracting international opportunities and income into the state.
The vision is to enable residents to live in Enugu, work for global organisations, earn internationally and spend locally, thereby contributing to job creation, household incomes and sustainable economic growth.
The Enugu MSME & Startup Agency is playing a key role in advancing this transition by supporting the development of a talent ecosystem built around the progression from skills acquisition to employment, income generation and prosperity.
With the ETTP and other digital-economy initiatives, Enugu is positioning human capital development as a critical pillar of its economic transformation agenda.
