Obsequies: Enugu Majority Leader Pays Last Respect to His Chief of Staff, Engr. Kingsley Ajaelo

It was a solemn day of grief and farewell as the Majority Leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Enugu North State Constituency, Hon. Johnson Samuel Ani, on Friday, September 26, 2025, bade a final goodbye to his late Chief of Staff, Engr. Kingsley Chidiebube Ajaelo.

The obsequies began with a lying-in-state and funeral service at St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, Isikwe Achi, Oji River Local Government Area, before the remains of the late engineer were committed to mother earth at his family compound in Umuakpu, amid tears and solemn reflections.

Hon. Ani, who was joined by his colleague representing Uzo Uwani State Constituency, Hon. Chukwuma Ekwueme, his aides, and a retinue of supporters, paid glowing tribute to his departed Chief of Staff. In his condolence, he described Engr. Ajaelo as a dependable ally and dedicated professional whose life was marked by service, loyalty, and humility. He prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and strength for the bereaved family.

The funeral also drew the presence of Hon. Osita Eze, Member representing Oji River State Constituency, alongside a host of dignitaries, friends, and associates, who all gathered to honour the memory of a man whose death has left a deep void in both political and personal circles.

The atmosphere was heavy with grief, yet filled with gratitude for a life well spent. Tears flowed freely as loved ones, colleagues, and the community bid farewell to Engr. Kingsley Chidiebube Ajaelo, remembering him as a man who touched lives with his quiet strength and unwavering commitment.
