
The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ECOWAS National Unit), in collaboration with the Enugu State Government, is set to host a one-day workshop on the Modalities for Participation in the ECOWAS Trade Liberalisation Scheme (ETLS).
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The workshop, themed “Increasing Intra-Regional Trade Through ETLS,” seeks to enhance stakeholders’ understanding of the ECOWAS Trade Liberalisation Scheme, a cornerstone policy designed to promote free movement of goods and foster economic integration among member states of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
According to the organisers, the event will bring together key stakeholders from government ministries, trade and investment agencies, exporters, manufacturers, and private sector players to explore opportunities within the ECOWAS market and improve Nigeria’s participation in intra-regional trade.
The workshop will be hosted by Her Excellency, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, while His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Governor of Enugu State, will serve as Chief Host.

The event is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the International Conference Center, Enugu, commencing at 9:00 AM.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the session aligns with Nigeria’s broader commitment to regional integration and economic cooperation, positioning Enugu as a key hub for trade expansion and policy dialogue within the ECOWAS sub-region.
