The initiative is a key component of the Grow Enugu Agenda for Peter Mbah (GEAP), the administration’s economic transformation blueprint that places enterprise development, private-sector growth, and inclusive prosperity at the heart of governance.
Governor Mbah, while underscoring the importance of MSMEs to the State’s economy, reiterated the administration’s commitment to building a business-friendly environment capable of unlocking sustainable wealth creation.
“Our objective is clear: to build an economy where businesses can thrive, expand, and create wealth. When our MSMEs are productive and competitive, Enugu State prospers,” the Governor stated.
The asset-based support model, according to the Enugu SME Center, is designed to address one of the most critical challenges facing MSMEs, limited access to productive capital, by providing practical support that translates directly into measurable economic outcomes.
Officials of the Agency noted that the programme will not only strengthen existing businesses but also stimulate value-chain development, deepen local production, and accelerate employment generation across multiple sectors of the State’s economy.
With this intervention, the Enugu State Government continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering on its economic promises, positioning MSMEs as critical drivers of growth under a reform-focused and results-driven administration.
