Uchenna Joseph Okolo, a Chairman whose vision, dedication, and results-driven leadership have already reshaped the landscape of grassroots governance in Awgu.
In just one year in office, Hon. Okolo has demonstrated that leadership is measured not by words, but by tangible impact. Under his stewardship, communities across Awgu have witnessed the successful implementation of the Awgu Water for All Initiative with over 21 solar-powered boreholes drilled, bringing clean, sustainable water closer to every household, installation of 600 solar-powered streetlights across 25 communities to enhance security and night-time mobility, commissioning of modern SatoPan toilets to end open defecation alongside artisan training to ensure sustainable community hygiene, major road construction and rehabilitation projects including access routes to Smart Green Schools linking all 11 wards of Awgu LGA, establishment of the first-ever Sexual Harassment and Abuse Response Centre in Enugu State protecting and empowering vulnerable citizens, and the rejuvenation of the Awgu Local Government Secretariat into a world-class administrative complex reflecting innovation and commitment to excellence.
Hon. Okolo’s leadership complements the visionary agenda of His Excellency Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, demonstrating that when state-level ambition meets grassroots execution, the people truly benefit.
