
The Commissioner of Police in , CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has rolled out the policing directives of the new Inspector-General of Police, , during the Command’s strategic monthly security conference held in Enugu.
The meeting, which took place on Thursday at the Senior Police Officers’ Mess on Agbani Road, brought together senior officers of the Command to review security operations over the past month and chart a renewed course for effective policing in the state.
Addressing the officers, Giwa said the directives of the new police chief are aimed at strengthening community-focused policing, promoting respect for citizens’ rights and dignity, and entrenching discipline and professionalism within the Force.
He noted that the Inspector-General has also emphasised improved welfare for officers, the reward of outstanding performance, and strict sanctions for misconduct.
According to the police commissioner, the new leadership of the Force has set a higher standard for service delivery, stressing that officers must demonstrate renewed commitment to ethical conduct and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Giwa further charged supervisory officers to ensure that the Inspector-General’s directives are effectively communicated to their subordinates while urging them to lead by example in improving policing outcomes across the state.
The conference was attended by Deputy and Assistant Commissioners of Police, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, heads of tactical units and sections, as well as other senior officers of the Command.
