The Managing Director of Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd, Architect Chibuikem Onyekachi Emmanuel, has said that Enugu State is fortunate to have a visionary leader in its governor, , whom he likened to Singapore’s founding Prime Minister, , for his reform-driven leadership and development-oriented policies.

Onyekachi made the remarks on Tuesday while speaking with journalists in Enugu during a birthday celebration organised in honour of Governor Mbah’s 54th birthday. He noted that the governor’s performance in less than three years in office has begun to position the state for significant economic and infrastructural transformation.

According to him, the administration’s focus on industrialisation, infrastructure development and investment-friendly policies is gradually placing Enugu on the map as a viable destination for business and economic growth.

He particularly commended reforms introduced in land administration, which he said have positively affected the real estate sector and other investors operating in the state. The architect cited the establishment of the Enugu Geographic Information System (ENGIS), reforms within the State Ministry of Lands, and the strengthening of operations under the Office of the Surveyor-General as measures that have improved land documentation and management.

Onyekachi further stated that the governor’s approach to governance has helped maintain a peaceful political environment in the state. He attributed this to the administration’s inclusive leadership style and its openness to constructive criticism.

He added that while the comparison with Lee Kuan Yew reflects the governor’s development-focused outlook, his leadership traits also remind observers of historical figures such as , and , who are widely recognised for their transformative impact on their societies.

The architect also offered prayers for the governor, wishing him continued wisdom and strength as he advances his administration’s policies and programmes.

Onyekachi expressed confidence that the government’s vision for economic expansion and job creation is already producing visible outcomes across several sectors of the state. He added that improved infrastructure and policy direction are strengthening investor confidence and encouraging more businesses to consider Enugu as a reliable hub for investment.

He maintained that if the current pace of reforms and development is sustained, the state is likely to witness even greater transformation in the years ahead.
