In an official statement issued by the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Ngene, the government specifically faulted a post by , which purportedly linked the damaged road to Enugu State.

According to the statement, the road shown in the widely circulated post does not correspond to any project—either ongoing or completed—executed by the Enugu State Government.

“The claim is inaccurate and constitutes a clear misrepresentation of facts,” the Ministry said, stressing that all its infrastructure projects are executed in line with strict engineering and quality standards.

Providing technical clarification, the Ministry explained that every road project under its supervision is constructed with a properly laid stone base course and complemented by functional drainage systems designed to effectively manage stormwater. It noted that the road shown in the viral content visibly lacks these critical engineering features, further proving that it is not affiliated with any state government project.

Reaffirming its position, the Ministry highlighted the infrastructure policy direction of the current administration led by Governor , emphasizing its commitment to delivering durable, high-quality, and climate-resilient roads across the state.

“All projects undertaken by the Ministry are subjected to strict quality control measures, professional supervision, and adherence to established engineering standards,” the statement added.

In response to the controversy, the Ministry challenged the publishers of the post to provide verifiable details, including the precise location of the road, to substantiate their claims.

It warned that failure to do so would confirm the post as a deliberate attempt to misinform the public and undermine ongoing developmental efforts in the state.

The government further urged residents and the general public to disregard the misleading report and rely solely on official communication channels for credible and accurate information regarding infrastructure developments in Enugu State.
