ENUGU SECURITY STRENGTHENED AS POLICE AND ARMY PLEDGE DEEPER COLLABORATION FOR PEACE AND SAFETY

The Enugu State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to stronger inter-agency cooperation with the Nigerian Army, aimed at enhancing security, peace, and public safety across the state.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, mnipr, mnisma, who signed the press release from the State Headquarters, GRA, Enugu, the assurance was made when the Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, mspsp, received the Commander, 82 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army, Enugu, Brigadier General Garba A. Suru, during a courtesy and familiarization visit to the Command.

During the engagement, CP Giwa emphasized that sustained synergy between the Police and the Army remains essential in addressing evolving security challenges. He noted that such collaboration is critical to maintaining law and order, preventing crime, and ensuring swift and coordinated responses to security threats across Enugu State.

Brigadier General Suru, in his remarks, stressed the importance of continued cordial relations and operational coordination between both security formations. He reiterated the Army’s commitment to strengthening joint efforts in intelligence sharing and security operations to improve overall safety in the state.

The visit also provided an opportunity for both security leaders to review existing partnerships and explore further strategies to enhance operational efficiency and inter-agency cooperation.

The Commissioner of Police was accompanied by members of the Command’s Management Team in receiving the visiting Army delegation at the State Headquarters.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both agencies reaffirming their shared resolve to sustain collaboration in safeguarding lives and property in Enugu State.
