WORKERS’ DAY 2026: NNAMCHI SALUTES ENUGU EAST/ISI UZO WORKERS, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO LABOUR WELFARE

The Member representing Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Prof. Paul Nnamchi, has extended warm felicitations to workers across the constituency in commemoration of the 2026 Workers’ Day, praising their resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions to society.

In his message, Hon. Nnamchi described workers as “the engine of the economy and the backbone of the Local Governments,” acknowledging their critical roles across all sectors. He highlighted the efforts of workers in classrooms, hospitals, farms, markets, offices, and on roads, noting that their daily toil continues to sustain and drive development in Enugu State.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to advancing legislative initiatives that promote workers’ welfare, including fair wages, safe working conditions, social protection, and the preservation of the dignity of labour.

He further emphasized that the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda must translate into tangible benefits for workers, particularly through improved policies, prompt payment of salaries, and the creation of an enabling environment that enhances productivity.

Hon. Nnamchi called for sustained collaboration among stakeholders to build an Enugu State where hard work is duly rewarded, talents are nurtured, and workers can retire with dignity.

He concluded by wishing all workers in Enugu East/Isi Uzo a happy Workers’ Day, while invoking blessings upon Enugu State and the nation at large.
