Mike Ogbuekwe, following his official picking of the nomination form to contest for the position of Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area.
In a statement issued by the State Media Directorate of the movement, the group described Hon. Mike Ogbuekwe as a committed grassroots mobilizer, visionary leader, and passionate advocate for community development, whose dedication to service has continued to earn him the confidence and admiration of the people across Nkanu East.
The movement noted that Hon. Ogbuekwe’s decision to join the race reflects his deep commitment to advancing inclusive governance, youth empowerment, infrastructural development, and people-oriented leadership at the grassroots level.
The Ije Awele Movement further commended the administration of His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, for promoting a governance culture that encourages visionary leadership, accountability, innovation, and sustainable development across Enugu State.
Speaking on the development, the Director General of Ije Awele Movement, Hon. Kingsley Ezinwa, stated that Hon. Mike Ogbuekwe possesses the leadership capacity, experience, and grassroots connection needed to consolidate development and strengthen democratic participation within Nkanu East Local Government Area.
According to Hon. Kingsley Ezinwa, the movement remains confident that the aspirations of Hon. Mike Ogbuekwe align with the yearnings of the people for responsive leadership, unity, progress, and effective representation.
He further called on supporters, stakeholders, youths, and the people of Nkanu East to continue supporting credible leaders who are genuinely committed to the welfare and advancement of the grassroots.
The Ije Awele Movement reaffirmed its readiness to continue mobilizing support for progressive leadership and constructive engagement that will contribute positively to the growth and development of Nkanu East and Enugu State at large.
