The Member representing Nkanu East Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly and Chairman of the House Committee on Housing and Foreign Investment, Hon. Okey Mbah, has congratulated Engr. Mike Chikosolu Ogbuekwe (Mmiri Oma), founder of the Ije Awele Support Group, on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for Nkanu East Local Government Area.

The lawmaker commended the Governor of Enugu State and leader of the party, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for what he described as a rare leadership style that has continued to promote peace, inclusiveness, and a violence-free political atmosphere in the state.
According to him, the emergence of Engr. Mike Ogbuekwe and other APC candidates ahead of the forthcoming local government elections reflects strategic political leadership and a clear vision for sustainable governance and grassroots development.
Hon. Mbah stated that Ogbuekwe’s victory at the primary election marks the beginning of a new phase of hope and renewed expectations for the people of Nkanu East Local Government Area.
He called on party stakeholders, supporters, women, and youths across the council area to remain united and work collectively towards ensuring victory for all APC candidates in the forthcoming local government elections, including councillorship candidates.
“The task before us is clear, to mobilise our people and secure victory for our chairmanship and councillorship candidates. The expectations are high, and we believe that the candidacy of Engr. Mike Ogbuekwe will make the desired difference in the administration of Nkanu East Local Government Council,” Hon. Mbah stated.
The lawmaker further expressed confidence in the leadership capacity of the APC chairmanship candidate, noting that his emergence has inspired confidence among party faithful and constituents.
He also wished Engr. Ogbuekwe success as he prepares for the main election, while urging party members to remain committed and focused ahead of the council polls and the 2027 general elections.
