BREAKING: Enugu State Government Awards Scholarships to 760 Students and Teachers

The Enugu State Government has officially awarded scholarships to hundreds of deserving students and public school teachers under its 2025/2026 Local Scholarship Scheme.

Announcing the awards on Monday, the Executive Secretary of the Enugu State Scholarship and Education Loans Board, Chukwuemeka Mbah, disclosed that the beneficiaries include 500 undergraduates, 100 postgraduates, and over 160 teachers spread across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state and various fields of study.The scholarship programme is in fulfilment of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s promise to deliver quality education to Enugu people without financial hindrance.

The inclusion of teachers in the scheme is aimed at strengthening the capacity of educators in public schools to effectively implement the state’s experiential learning methodology.

Mbah stated that successful candidates who sat for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) are being contacted via text messages and/or email on an LGA-by-LGA basis for verification and documentation.

He added that verification for undergraduate and postgraduate beneficiaries will begin immediately, while that of the teachers will follow afterwards.The Enugu State Government described the initiative as a major step towards building a brighter future for the state.
