The endorsement was made during a colourful and well-attended rally in Awgu Local Government Area, where women from communities across the council gathered to publicly declare their support for leaders they said have demonstrated commitment to good governance, inclusive development, and people-oriented leadership.

Beyond Governor Mbah and Senator Ngwu, the association also endorsed the member representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency, Hon. Anayo Onwuegbu; the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Okolo; the member representing Awgu South State Constituency, Hon. Anthony Chukwudi Nwankwo; and the APC candidate for Awgu North State Constituency, Hon. Charles Ikechukwu Ezenta.

Representing Senator Osita Ngwu at the event, Emeka Udeh received the endorsement plaque on the senator’s behalf amid loud applause and chants of solidarity from members of the association, who pledged to continue supporting his leadership and developmental initiatives across Enugu West Senatorial District.

Speaking during the event, leaders of the Umuada Awgu Progressive Association said Senator Ngwu has earned the trust of the people through accessible leadership, regular engagement with constituents, effective legislative representation, and his efforts in attracting meaningful development projects to communities within the district.

According to the women, the senator’s dedication to peace, empowerment, and inclusive governance informed their unanimous decision to pass a vote of confidence in his leadership, describing him as a representative who has remained connected to the needs and aspirations of the people.

Receiving the endorsement, Udeh thanked the association on behalf of Senator Ngwu, describing the honour as a strong expression of the confidence the people have continued to place in the senator’s leadership.

He said the endorsement would further strengthen Senator Ngwu’s resolve to provide quality representation, sponsor impactful legislation, and champion programmes that improve the welfare of the people across Enugu West Senatorial District.

Udeh also reaffirmed the senator’s commitment to working closely with Governor Peter Mbah and other elected officials to sustain the pace of development across Enugu State while ensuring that every community within the senatorial district benefits from the dividends of democracy.

The event attracted several Traditional rulers, political leaders and stakeholders, including the APC Zonal Chairman, Hon. Chimaobi, whose presence underscored the significance of the gathering.
The rally ended in celebration as members of the Umuada Awgu Progressive Association presented the endorsement plaque to Senator Ngwu’s representative, sang solidarity songs, and pledged to continue mobilising grassroots support for Governor Peter Mbah, Senator Osita Ngwu, and the other endorsed leaders.
The association maintained that its endorsements were based on performance, accessibility, and the conviction that the beneficiaries possess the vision and capacity to deepen democratic governance and sustain the developmental progress of Awgu Local Government Area, Enugu West Senatorial District, and Enugu State.
