Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu Mourns with Okpanku Community at Burial of Late Mr. Orji Daniel Uzoigwe

The Member representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji-River Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, joined the people of Okpanku in mourning the painful loss of Late Mr. Orji Daniel Uzoigwe, as his Senior Special Assistant on Liaison, Hon. Okorie Bonaventure Ndubuisi, represented him at the burial ceremony.

Late Mr. Orji Daniel Uzoigwe, who died at the age of 45, reportedly succumbed to a gunshot wound sustained during a tragic attack at his residence a few months ago. The incident, allegedly perpetrated by suspected assailants from a neighbouring community in Ebonyi State, threw the family and the entire Okpanku community into deep mourning..

Representing Hon. Onwuegbu, Hon. Okorie Bonaventure Ndubuisi conveyed the federal lawmaker’s heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, describing the killing as a painful and unfortunate loss. He prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased and for God to grant his family, friends, and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He further reaffirmed Hon. Onwuegbu’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, security, and well-being of the people of Aninri, Awgu, and Oji-River Federal Constituency. He called on the relevant security agencies to intensify efforts to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice, while also urging neighbouring communities to continue promoting peaceful coexistence.

Also present at the burial ceremony was the Senior Special Assistant on Liaison to the Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District, Hon. Ajah James, who attended on behalf of Distinguished Senator Osita Ngwu.

The burial ceremony attracted family members, traditional rulers, community leaders, political stakeholders, religious leaders, friends, and sympathisers, who gathered to pay their final respects to the late Mr. Orji Daniel Uzoigwe and to stand in solidarity with his family during this difficult time.
