The appointment, announced in an official communication from the Governing Board and Global Secretariat of the World Business Summit in Sofia, Bulgaria, underscores Onyima’s growing influence in media, governance advocacy, and strategic institutional engagement.

In the appointment letter signed by Happy Kasarachi on behalf of the WBS Global Secretariat, the organisation said Onyima’s selection followed a thorough assessment of his leadership credentials and sustained contributions to promoting transparency, accountability, and public discourse through Leadership Scorecard Magazine and Scorecard TV.

The Summit also cited his participation and strategic contributions at the World Cooperation Industries (WCI) Forum and the Turkish Business Forum, describing his ability to build cross-sector partnerships and convene key stakeholders as qualities that align with the vision of the World Business Summit.

According to the letter, Onyima’s extensive network across Nigeria’s public and private sectors, coupled with his experience in institutional collaboration and media leadership, makes him well-positioned to drive the Summit’s collaboration and strategic initiatives in Nigeria.

“As Director of Collaboration and Strategy for Nigeria, your unique ability to advance transparency and accountability in governance, combined with your deep footprint in media influence, institutional convening and cross-sector network building, mirrors the foundational ethos of the World Business Summit and makes you uniquely qualified to anchor this critical portfolio,” the letter stated.
The organisation disclosed that the appointment comes with a comprehensive institutional package detailing the scope of the new role. The package includes the Formal Appointment Letter, the WBS Master Prospectus, the WBS Global Advisory Board Profile, the WBS Honors Gala Brochure, the Executive Service Agreement, the Appointment Flyer, and the WBS Trip Proposal.
The Global Secretariat expressed optimism that Onyima’s appointment would strengthen collaboration between Nigeria and the international business community while advancing the Summit’s mission of fostering sustainable partnerships, innovation, investment, and economic development across continents.
