In a public announcement, the Ministry disclosed that the temporary traffic restriction will take effect from Monday, August 3, 2026, to enable contractors undertake critical phases of the project in a safe and efficient manner.

According to the Ministry, the affected section of the road will be closed intermittently as construction progresses and whenever project activities require temporary traffic restrictions to ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians, construction personnel, and the surrounding environment.

The Ministry advised motorists and other road users to exercise caution, comply with all traffic diversion measures, obey road signs, and cooperate fully with traffic management personnel and other authorized officials deployed to the project site.

It expressed regret over any inconvenience the temporary traffic arrangement may cause and appealed for the understanding and cooperation of the public, stressing that the measure is necessary for the successful execution of the project.

The Ministry reaffirmed the Enugu State Government’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure that enhances public safety, improves road connectivity, and supports the state’s ongoing urban renewal and development agenda.

The announcement was signed by Ngozi MaryAnn Ngene, Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Ministry of Works.
