No NERD clearance, no NYSC! 😳
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a fresh directive to all Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), warning that they will not be mobilised for national service without NERD clearance.
In a notice released as preparations gather pace for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ mobilisation, the NYSC urged eligible graduates to obtain their National Electronic Registration Database (NERD) clearance early to avoid delays.
The scheme stated bluntly:
“NERD clearance is compulsory for all PCMs. No NERD clearance, No NYSC!”
The NYSC did not disclose further details on how prospective corps members are to obtain the clearance in the notice, but the directive signals tighter verification ahead of the next orientation exercise.
Meanwhile, the scheme has also renewed its safety warning to prospective corps members travelling to orientation camps, urging them to avoid night journeys and seek safe accommodation whenever necessary.
