NDA Congratulates Hon. Mike Ogbuekwe on His Emergence and Swearing-In as Executive Chairman of Nkanu East LGA

The Nkerefi Development Association (NDA) is a socio-cultural and developmental body dedicated to advancing the collective welfare, dignity, and progress of Ndi-Nkerefi, both at home and in the diaspora. Through advocacy, community mobilization, and strategic partnerships, the Association works to safeguard the interests of its people, foster unity across geographical boundaries, and drive sustainable development in the Nkerefi homeland, has congratulated Hon. Mike Ogbuekwe on his emergence and swearing-in as the Executive Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area.

The congratulatory message was delivered on behalf of the association’s leadership and members by its President, Mr. Chukwudi Boniface Okeke. He said the development was a source of great joy, pride and fulfilment to the people of Nkerefi, who had followed the process with keen interest and prayers.

Mr. Okeke began by expressing the gratitude of the association and the entire Nkerefi town to the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. He said the Governor had placed Nkerefi on the map through the opportunity extended to one of its illustrious sons. He stated that Ndi-Nkerefi had never had it so good, and that the Governor had honoured the people in ways they could not adequately describe. According to him, the gesture would remain a landmark in the history of the community and would be remembered for generations.

The NDA President noted that the elevation of Hon. Ogbuekwe was a recognition of the Nkerefi people’s contribution to the growth, and development of Nkanu East and the state at large. He added that it had strengthened the sense of belonging and inclusion among Ndi-Nkerefi, both at home and in the diaspora, and renewed their confidence in the leadership of the state.

Turning to the new Chairman, Mr. Okeke described Hon. Ogbuekwe as a round peg in a round hole. He said Hon. Ogbuekwe possessed the experience, temperament and capacity required to steer the affairs of the local government. He expressed confidence that the Chairman would deliver beyond expectations in his new role and would justify the trust reposed in him by the Governor and the people of Nkanu East.

He urged Hon. Ogbuekwe to see his emergence as a call to service and to be guided by fairness, humility and the collective interest of all residents of the local government, irrespective of community or creed. He also expressed the hope that the Chairman’s administration would bring development, and lasting dividends of democracy to the grassroots.

Mr. Okeke assured Hon. Ogbuekwe that the good people of Nkerefi, under the auspices of NDA, would give him all the necessary support to make him thrive. He said the association would remain a dependable partner, offering prayers, counsel and cooperation, and would mobilize its members at home and abroad to support the success of his administration.

He concluded by wishing the Chairman a fruitful tenure, good health and divine guidance as he assumed the responsibilities of office, and by reaffirming the association’s commitment to the peaceful and progressive development of Nkanu East.
