Mr. Okeke first expressed the Association’s deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. He said the Governor had found a worthy son of Nkerefi fit to occupy such an elevated position in his administration. He added that the gesture was a great honour, and that Ndi-Nkerefi would not take it for granted.

Turning to the appointee, the NDA President described Prof. Ajah as a seasoned administrator whose capacity had been tested and proven in the various positions he held in the past. He noted, in particular, Prof. Ajah’s service as Secretary to the Enugu State Government, an office that demanded discipline, depth of knowledge, integrity and a firm grasp of the workings of government. He said the way Prof. Ajah discharged those responsibilities had earned him respect and left a legacy that many still speak of with admiration.

Against that background, Mr. Okeke said the Association had no doubt that Prof. Ajah would deliver beyond expectations as Chairman of the Civil Service Commission. He observed that the Commission is central to building a professional, efficient and well-motivated public service, and that with his wealth of experience Prof. Ajah was well placed to uphold standards, promote fairness and strengthen the civil service for the good of the state and its people.

The NDA President also assured Prof. Ajah of the support of the good people of Nkerefi under the aegis of NDA. He said the Association would stand solidly behind him, offering prayers, goodwill, counsel and every form of cooperation he might need to thrive in the new assignment. He added that the Nkerefi people would continue to take pride in his achievements and see his success as a shared success.

Mr. Okeke concluded by praying to God Almighty to grant Prof. Ajah wisdom, good health, strength and divine guidance throughout his tenure, and to crown his efforts with great success. He said the Association looked forward to celebrating more achievements with him as he served the state and humanity.
