Hon. Engr. Onwuegbu Pays Tribute to Deaconess Esther Ogbonnia, Mother of Hon. Chief Alex Ogbonnia, at Burial Ceremony in Awgu

The Member of the House of Representatives for Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency of Enugu State, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, attended the burial ceremony of Late Deaconess Esther Oligwe Ogbonnia, mother of Hon. Chief Alex Ogbonnia, at the Primary School premises in Ugbo Okpala, Awgu Local Government Area, on April 23, 2025.

Deaconess Ogbonnia, who passed away at the age of 88, was an ardent Christian of the Christ Apostolic Church, devoted her life to service and devotion to God, as well as her dedication to charity and humanity. Hon. Onwuegbu, who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Lake Chad, commiserated with the Ogbonnaya family on the loss of their mother, describing it as a great loss to them and the community.

“May her soul rest in God’s bosom,” Hon. Onwuegbu prayed, adding that Deaconess Ogbonnia would be remembered as “a pillar of strength and a shining example of selfless service to humanity.”

In his condolence message to the family, Hon. Onwuegbu said, “We express our deepest condolences to the Ogbonnaya family on the passing of their mother. She was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to serving God and humanity.”

The lawmaker’s presence at the burial ceremony was a mark of respect to the deceased and solidarity with the bereaved family. As the community bids farewell to a devoted servant of God, Deaconess Ogbonnia’s legacy of faith, charity, and service will continue to inspire many.
