The high-impact trade fair, held from August 30 to 31 at the International Conference Centre, Enugu, attracted more than 20,000 shoppers drawn from different parts of Nigeria and the diaspora. The event was delivered through a strategic partnership between NaijaBrandChick and the Enugu SME Center, with institutional backing from the Enugu State Government.

Exhibitors cut across diverse sectors of the economy, with vendors participating from Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Accra and the United Kingdom. Many businesses reported remarkable outcomes, with several recording sales ranging between ₦10 million and ₦50 million over the two-day period, reflecting strong consumer confidence and the expanding market for Nigerian-made products.

Beyond direct vendor revenue, the trade fair generated significant spillover benefits for Enugu’s local economy. Hospitality, transportation, logistics and other service sectors experienced heightened activity, while economic projections estimate a broader ripple effect of about ₦2.3 billion across the third and fourth quarters of 2025.

The success of the fair aligns with Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s digital economy and MSME development vision, which emphasizes innovation, market access and visibility as drivers of inclusive economic growth. The event showcased how targeted trade platforms can unlock value for small businesses while strengthening the state’s economic base.

Speaking on the impact of the trade fair, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on MSMEs and Digital Economy, Hon. Arinze Chilo-Offiah, described the initiative as a clear pathway to grassroots prosperity, noting that MSMEs remain central to sustainable GDP growth.

With its impressive turnout, strong sales performance and wide economic impact, the 042 NaijaBrandChick Trade Fair has further positioned Enugu as a rising centre for enterprise and innovation, reinforcing the state’s message to investors and entrepreneurs that Enugu truly means business.
