Hon. Engr. Onwuegbu Congratulates Newly Sworn-In Permanent Secretaries, Lauds Gov. Mbah’s Competence-Driven Leadership

The Member representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency of Enugu State, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, FNSE, and Chairman of the House Committee on Lake Chad, has congratulated the 13 newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries in Enugu State, describing their appointment as a thoughtful affirmation of competence, experience, and capacity for public service.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries were sworn in on Monday, 15th December 2025, at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Enugu, by the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

In a congratulatory message, Hon. Onwuegbu commended Governor Mbah for adopting a competence-driven and performance-oriented approach to appointments, noting that leadership anchored on knowledge, character, and proven ability remains the surest path to sustainable governance. He expressed appreciation for the Governor’s deliberate effort to strengthen the state’s civil service through the elevation of individuals deemed fit to shoulder greater responsibilities.

The federal lawmaker reminded the newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries that their emergence was not accidental, but a product of demonstrated capacity and trust in their abilities. He urged them to approach their duties with humility, diligence, and a deep sense of responsibility, emphasizing that public office is a call to service and a platform to advance the collective good of Enugu State. He further prayed for God’s wisdom, guidance, and protection as they assume office.

Hon. Onwuegbu also acknowledged that two of the appointees, Barr. Ikechukwu Ezenwukwa and Comrade Kennis Ngene, are from Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency, describing their appointments as a positive reflection of the depth of human capital within the constituency.

He concluded by wishing all the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries a successful and impactful tenure, marked by integrity, excellence, and meaningful contributions to the growth and progress of Enugu State.
